ATHLETES WHO HAVE USED HYPNOSIS FOR SPORTS SUCCESS

Steve Hooker of Australia won the 2008 Gold Medal in Pole Vaulting after his hypnotist helped him to
visualize his success.

Felix Baumgartner became the first person to reach supersonic speed without traveling in a jet or a spacecraft after hopping out of a capsule that had reached an altitude of 128,100 feet above the Earth, in 2012.

2008: The only two skeet shooters who won gold medals for the U.S. worked with a Hypnotherapist.

1984: Mary Lou Retton used hypnosis to block pain in her foot and won the Gold Medal for Gymnastics.

1983: The Chicago White Sox hired a full-time Hypnotist and made the playoffs.

1967: The Swiss Ski Team used a Hypnotherapist and 3 members won medals.

At the age of 13, Tiger Woods began seeing a hypnotist to help him to block out distractions and focus on the golf course.

Jimmy Connors is said to have used hypnosis techniques to practice his winning strokes prior to the US Open Championship.

Kevin McBride, the celebrated Irish heavyweight boxing champion summons his hypnotist before every game, to get into the right frame of mind.

Championship golfer Jack Nicklaus lauded hypnotherapy and visualization techniques as the sole reason for his improved concentration.

CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE USED HYPNOSIS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Orlando Bloom was so hooked on chocolate as a child, his mother called in a hypnotist to help him shape up.

Other celebrities who have used hypnosis as part of their weight-loss program include:

  • Fergie, the lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas, keeps a hypnotherapist on speed dial when she’s touring, according to Marie Claire
  • Lily Allen (singer)

CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE USED HYPNOSIS TO OVERCOME THE FEAR OF STUTTERING OR SPEAKING IN PUBLIC

Bruce Willis – Walter Bruce Willis (born March 19, 1955) is a German-born American actor and singer. He came to fame in the late 1980s and has since retained a career as both a Hollywood leading man and a supporting actor. Being the leading actor in some of the greatest action movies Bruce Willis has had stuttering problems throughout his youth and was always scared it would affect his acting career. Fortunately he successfully overcame it.

Tiger Woods – Tiger Woods (born Eldrick Tiger Woods, December 30, 1975) is an American professional golfer whose achievements to date rank him among the most successful golfers of all time. Tiger Woods had stuttering problems at childhood but he overcame it through hard work and practice. He admitted doing everything possible to conquer his speech disorder including talking to his dog until he would fall asleep.

Julia Roberts – Academy Award-winning actress. Julia Fiona Roberts (born October 28, 1967) is an Academy Award winning American film actress and former fashion model. Roberts has become the highest paid actress in the world, topping the annual power list of top earning female stars for four consecutive years. Julia Roberts admitted the fact that she stuttered when she was younger, but she now speaks fluidly and is a respected actress.

Mel Tillis – (born Lonnie Melvin Tillis August 8, 1932) is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and received the lifetime achievement award in 2007. He has also been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Tillis and his band, the Statesiders, released such hits as ?I Ain?t Never,? ?Good Woman Blues,? and ?I Believe in You.? His stutter developed during his childhood, a result of a bout of malaria.

FAMOUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE USED HYPNOSIS FOR CAREER SUCCESS

Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud developed modern psychiatry as a result of learning about and practicing hypnosis.

Mozart (1756-91) apparently composed the famous opera “Cosi fan tutte” while hypnotized.

Albert Einstein (1879-1955) physicist – was known to go into a trance through self hypnosis every afternoon. His theory of
relativity came to him during one of these sessions. He also used trance states to develop his ideas.

Lord Tennyson Alfred (1809-92) wrote complete poems while hypnotized.

Thomas Edison used self—hypnosis on a regular basis

Aldous Huxley, Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer and philosopher. He wrote nearly fifty books—both novels and non-fiction works—as well as wide-ranging essays, narratives, and poems. used trance—like states to explore the nature of Consciousness.

Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943) Sergei Rachmaninoff was so distressed by the negative reaction to the 1897 premiere of his first symphony, he stopped composing for nearly three years. What restored his confidence to compose his much-loved Piano Concerto No.2.  There was a Dr. Dahl—who did hypnosis on Rachmaninoff—influencing him that he must compose, he will be better and better…

Chelsea Handler, Mark Knopfler, Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, Ben Affleck, Ashton Kutcher, Ewan McGregor, Adele and Charlize Theron beat their smoking habit through hypnosis.

CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE USED HYPNOSIS FOR PERSONAL IMPROVEMENT

Martha Stewart underwent hypnosis for recurring nightmares and was able to overcome them.

Sylvester Stallone worked with the famous hypnotherapist Gil Boyne while filming Rocky in 1975.

Hollywood actor Aaron Eckhart has credited hypnosis with changing his life forever after he used the practice to give up smoking and alcohol.

Kevin Costner flew his personal hypnotist to Hawaii to cure his seasickness.

Jackie Kennedy Onassis used hypnotherapy to relive and let go of tragic events in her life.

Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) politician used post-hypnotic suggestions in order to stay awake all night and
avoid tiredness during W.W.II.

 

Reese Witherspoon has used hypnosis to overcome her insecurities.  According to the Cambridge Times web site, the 38-year-old actress said that years of being told she was too fat or short for Hollywood roles had taken their toll on her self esteem, so she turned to hypnosis for a confidence boost before taking on the role of Cheryl Strayed in ‘Wild’.

 

FAMOUS PEOPLE WHO ARE CERTIFIED HYPNOTISTS AND HYPNOTHERAPISTS

FLORENCE HENDERSON

Florence Henderson is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Carol Brady on the ABC sitcom The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974. In the mid- 1980’s she married John Kappas, a hypnotherapist and founder of the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, whom she met while battling depression. Henderson studied hypnotherapy and is a certified hypnotherapist.

 HELEN REDDY

Helen Reddy has won a Grammy Award, appeared on Broadway and in feature films, and is credited with singing and writing one of the most iconic songs of the 1970s, “I Am Woman.” Her musical hits also include the well-known songs, “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Delta Dawn,” “Leave Me Alone (Ruby Red Dress),” “You and Me Against the World” and “Angie Baby.” Helen is also a practicing clinical hypnotherapist based in Sydney and patron of the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists.

SCOTT ADAMS

Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic strip is also trained as a hypnotist. He credits his own success to affirmations, including Dilbert’s success. He states that the affirmations gave him focus.He has described a method he has used that he says gave him success. He pictured in his mind what he wanted, and wrote it down 15 times a day on a piece of paper.

JOE VITALE

Joe Vitale is one of the stars of the hit movie The Secret who teaches methods for using the Law of Attraction in business and life. He is the author of the international #1 best-seller, The Attractor Factor, the #1 best-seller Life’s Missing Instruction Manual, the #1 best-selling e-book Hypnotic Writing, and the #1 best-selling Nightingale-Conant audio program, The Power of Outrageous Marketing, among numerous other works.

 

CATHERINE HICKLAND

 

Hickland played in a number of daytime dramas. Her first major role was on Texas as Dr. Courtney Marshall from 1980 to 1981, followed by the role of Julie Clegg McCandless on Capitol from 1984 to 1987, and the dual role of Jenny Diamond from 1985 to 1986.[7]

While engaged to her future husband David Hasselhoff, she played a role in his series Knight Rider as Stephanie “Stevie” Mason, who, in the story, was engaged to Michael Knight (Hasselhoff’s character). She appeared in three episodes: “White Bird” (March 4, 1983), “Let It Be Me” (May 13, 1984), and “The Scent of Roses” (January 3, 1986). In 1985, Hickland appeared in 15 episodes of the game show “Body Language. She also appears on the debut David Hasselhoff record Night Rocker, singing on “Our First Night Together” and “Let It Be Me”.

In 1987, she filled in for Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan on the serial The Bold and the Beautiful, while Lang was sick. She also played Tess Wilder on Loving (1993–1995) and The City (1995–1997). From 1998 to 2009, Hickland has portrayed Lindsay Rappaport on One Life to Live, reprising her role towards the end of the show’s run in 2011.

As a guest star, Hickland appeared in numerous television series, including CHiPs (1983), Airwolf (1985), and Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001–2005).

Hickland has also appeared on Broadway in the musical Les Misérables as Fantine in 1995.[1] Also she performed live, singing with the National Symphony de Lyon in Lyon, France,[5] in 1995.[citation needed] In 2001, she released a music CD, Sincerely Broadway, and that same year started a cosmetics line, Cat Cosmetics, for which she serves as CEO.[8] She has also written a column on cosmetics and skin care for Soap Opera Digest.[1][9]

Since 2008, Hickland has been operating as a hypnotist.  She is married to Todd Fisher, brother of Carrie Fisher and son of Debbie Reynolds.

 

CELEBRITIES WHO HAVE USED HYPNOSIS FOR CHILDBIRTH

Jessica Alba, pregnant with her second child used HypnoBirthing. HypnoBirthing was created by Marie Mongan, a Certified Hypnotherapist and is used throughout the world.

Gisele Bundchen used HypnoBirthing too. Tom Brady’s Parents are registered HypnoBirthing Educators and Practitioners.

 

According to The Mirror, Kate Middleton used HypnoBirthing to stay calm and visualize birth. Kate had her husband, Prince William by her side to support, reassure and coach her during the labor.

Emily Deschanel, (Dr. Temperance Brennan, on Bones) used HypnoBirthing for her recent baby.
